SVHS ends season with 14 - 28 loss, 2009 record is 6 - 4
Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 5:37AM The Shades Valley Mounties ended their season Friday night with a 14 - 28 loss to the Rebels of Vestavia Hills, but they end 2009 as winners.
In this video interview, Head Coach, Curtis Coleman, talks about his overall impression of Vestavia Hills and how SVHS matched up, as well as impression of this 2009 team.
Pending unforseen forfeits by Region 7 playoff teams, this was the final game of the season for the Mounties, who ended the season with a record of 6-4.
Shades Valley finished in fifth place in the region with a 4-3 record, their first winning region record since 2000. Several futile streaks were broken by the Mounties this year.
They got their first winning overall and region record since 2000, their first shutout since 2004, and they snapped a six game series winning streak by Oxford by defeating them for the first time ever.
Since Coach Curtis Coleman came to Shades Valley, his Mountie teams have increased by two the number of wins they have had each year, starting with his first year, the Mounties had 0 in 2006, 2 in 2007, 4 in 2008 and 6 in 2009.
