Year of Small Towns

Photo by Randy ArcherIrondale is participating in Alabama's 2010: The Year of Small Town and Downtowns. Many towns are participating with activities and festivals to highlight their town.

Irondale's annual Whistle Stop Festival is a great way to introduce many people to Irondale. However, more is needed to emphasize Irondale year round.

Ideas already suggested are 1) visitors and newcomer packets, 2) walking tours of Historical Irondale and the Cahaba River park, and 3) several small "Trade Days".

Show your support of Irondale, by bringing your ideas and friends to a meeting on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at 7:30 PM. The meeting will be at the Historical Society Building, 1910 1st Ave South, next to the Red Caboose.
