Optimist Club Essay Winners

Taking Note of Shades Valley's Choir

SVHS Choir, Alabama Veterans Memorial ParkUnder the direction of Choral Director, Gia Graddy, the Shades Valley High School Choir continues to be a pacesetter in Jefferson County.

From her arrival in 2008, Ms. Graddy made clear her goals and objectives for the choir; the key word was excellence.  Accepting her challenge, the students worked hard and very quickly saw results.

Time to Shine

Our city has many aspects that can make us all proud. Just one, are the schools located in our city limits. The featured school this week is Shades Valley High School, because this is HOMECOMING WEEK.

SVHS challenges Pinson Valley on Friday night at 7 PM at the high school This game has playoff ramifications, but more important it is at home and HOMECOMING.
