Time to Shine

Our city has many aspects that can make us all proud. Just one, are the schools located in our city limits. The featured school this week is Shades Valley High School, because this is HOMECOMING WEEK.

SVHS challenges Pinson Valley on Friday night at 7 PM at the high school This game has playoff ramifications, but more important it is at home and HOMECOMING.

The exciting part of any Homecoming has to be the parade and pep rally. This Friday the parade will form on 4^th Ave South. At 2 PM, they will proceed on 16^th Street, turning right on 2^nd Ave No and disperse for a short pep rally in front of the Whistle Stop Café. Participants will include the band, cheerleaders, floats and school groups. The kids have started their preparation and are very excited.

This could be a great way for Irondale to show our appreciation for Shades Valley High School. Take a few minutes to attend your parade. If you live on the parade route, please come to porch and encourage the kids. A crowd will help the players and it may help you feel better, too.
