Optimist Club Essay Winners

On February 11, the top three winners of the Optimist Club of Birmingham 's Essay Contest read their entries to club members, parents and friends.

This year's essay topic was "The Internet: Today's Evolution or Tomorrow's Menace?"    

Each winner received a medal, a certificate, and a cash prize.  The 1st place essay has also been submitted for further competition at the AL-LA-MS District level for a $2,500 scholarship.
